Working for you all year round - not just at election time

Local businessman, councillor & campaigner David Kendall takes on Eric Pickles, Tory Party Chairman

Eric Pickles has never voted on a transparent Parliament*.

David Kendall fought against the cabinet system introduction in Brentwood and publishes his expenses on the web.

Eric voted very strongly for the Iraq war*.

David was against the Iraq War and proud that Liberal Democrats MPs took a stance and voted against the Iraq War.

Eric was not in parliament to vote for the 10:10 motion.

David tabled a motion at Brentwood Borough council to support the 10:10 Motion on cutting carbon emissions and seconded the same motion at Essex County Council.

Eric has spoken in three parliamentary debates in the last year - well below average amongst MPs*.

David has a 100% attendance rate at council meetings in the last year and also attended several meetings in a wheelchair in 2008 after breaking his ankle.

Eric Pickles has a second home in London, despite only living 37 miles from Westminster.

David has committed to not having a second home if he is elected as MP for Brentwood & Ongar.

On one day in October, David attended three resident meetings in Brentwood whilst Eric was campaigning in Staffordshire.

On the day the general election campaign was launched, Tuesday 6th April 2010, David Kendall was in Brentwood, working, then at a residents meeting and then talking to residents in Pilgrims Hatch.

Eric was in Wales.
