Lib Dems slam cabinet move

Brentwood Liberal Democrat councillors have slammed Conservative plans to change to a cabinet system of local government on Brentwood Borough Council. They reacted angrily to the news when it was announced as an urgent item of business at Wednesday's Policy Panel meeting (18/6/08).

Call for "Friends of Country Parks" group

Cllr Karen Chilvers, Lib Dem councillor and former lead campaigner in the "Save Thorndon Park" campaign, is calling for the council to create a "Friends of Brentwood Country Parks" group to be created to safeguard the future of our precious parks.

Lib Dem leader calls for Brentwood Youth Forum

Cllr David Kendall, Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group, is calling for a youth forum to be set up by Brentwood Borough Council to ensure the voices of local young people are heard. His call follows the news that Essex County Council is going to make £155,000 available to Brentwood and other Borough and District Councils to be spent on projects for young people.
